Having a baby can be overwhelming so pack that bag ahead of time and keep it simple. The hospital provides everything you will need, but there are a few personal items that can make your stay a little more comforting for you and your new babe.
In addition to your standard items which we will also list to make this a comprehensive checklist, consider packing the following:
For you:
- Slippers
- Robe
- Pillow
- Snacks! (Hospital food never delivers, not even pancakes meet the mark)
- Lotion- my skin always gets so dry!
- Lip gloss/lip protectant
- Shampoo/Conditioner/Body wash- in case you want to shower
- Nursing bra to wear when leaving the hospital
- Socks
Standard items:
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Hairbrush
- Phone & charger
- Comfy clothes to wear home that are easy to get on and off (sweatpants are a must for me!)
The hospital provides all your post-partum needs so unless there is something specific you want, you do not need to pack any of those items.
For baby:
- Bodysuits/Onesies- our bamboo onesies are ultra-soft and have lots of stretch making changing your new baby a little easier. Bring more than one, babies have accidents
- Receiving blanket- the hospital will provide, but if you have one you love I recommend packing it
- Socks
- Beanie- the hospital provides this but again, if you have one you love, bring it.
- Going home outfit- great to have for those first pictures
If you have any other items that make the hospital stay more comfortable please share in comments below! Would love to hear your ideas!
